Vaughn began her yoga journey shortly after moving to Minneapolis in 2016.

What started as a weekly Vinyasa class at a local gym turned into an interest in the body’s movements and the liberation of the mind through body-based practices.

As her interest continued, she explored different avenues of movement, one, in particular, being Ashtanga yoga. The focus and discipline required in Ashtanga appealed to her anxious mind. The stillness within each posture and the breath required to arrive at every movement found itself integrating within her daily life. After several years of consistent practice, asana has become an anchor for grounding.

After becoming a registered yoga teacher in 2019, Vaughn began teaching Vinyasa and used the Ashtanga method to inform her technique. Holding postures through discomfort, slower, more mindful movement, a powerful breath and the occasional odd-ball asana present themselves in her sequences. She refines postures down to their minutia in hopes that students dial into otherwise unconscious parts of the body.

Vaughn has been fortunate to teach Vinyasa yoga at several studios in the Twin Cities as well as collaborate with organizations like BuzzFeed and Yoga Pose.

In 2021, Vaughn began an apprenticeship with her teacher and mentor, Ellie Wannemacher, to deepen her relationship with Ashtanga yoga and begin teaching Mysore-style and led primary series classes. Vaughn has devoted herself to the Ashtanga method and intends to further immerse herself in the lineage.
